Austria is a member of the Euro-zone. As of January 1, 2002 the Euro replaced the Austrian Schilling as the country’s official currency.

Major credit cards are usually accepted everywhere, except in some small shops or restaurants. ATMs are available throughout the city.

Banks are generally open Mon-Fri 9 am to 4 pm with a lunch break, although this may vary. Some banks close earlier on Friday.
