Well, yes, fast food chains exist even in Vienna. If you can't live without fast food, be reassured: you will be able to manage during your stay in the Austrian capital. McDonald's is the market leader with dozens of branches in the city. The most central ones are in Singerstrasse (just 100 meters off Stephansdom), Schwedenplatz, and Karlsplatz. Subway has some branches as well, although it does not seem very popular with locals. Burger King is more accepted, but has no restaurants in the city centre. The relatively most central one is in the Lugner City shopping centre on the Gürtel. More central is Pizza Hut that can be found at the corner of Schwedenplatz and Rotenturmstraße. Kentucky Fried Chicken has no branches in Vienna yet. If you want to try an Austrian alternative to KFC, head for a Wienerwald restaurant: there are four in the 1st district (Annagasse 3, Bellariastraße 12, Freyung 6, and Goldschmiedgasse 6). |

A good fast food option is Da Bizi: this very popular self-service "pizza & pasta" kind of restaurant is frequented by locals and tourists alike. Da Bizi is just about 100 metres from St. Stephen's square going north towards Rotenturmstraße. A slice of pizza costs about 2.20 Euro, while a large portion of pasta is about 4 to 6 Euro. Thanks to its central location, Da Bizi is a good choice for a quick bite on a long sightseeing day. Da Bizi Open: daily 11 am to 11.30 pm.
