It is very difficult
to find books that explain grammar gradually. This text comes closer
to it than most. It is quite thorough and covers everything from
the gender of nouns to the conjugation of verbs. Each chapter opens
with easy-to-understand explanations of a grammar rule and its most
important applications. Then you find different exercises to practice.
You can do some exercises on your own: they have set answers that
you can check at the back of the book. Others are open-ended as they
should encourage communication using the grammar points covered.
It would be ideal to do these exercises with someone knowledgeable
who can correct you.
A short but very useful section of the book is the grammatical introduction
at the very beginning. If you are not familiar with terms like 'syllable'
or 'reflexive verbs,' you can look them up there.

This book can help the beginner
approach the complexity of the Spanish grammar in a rather straightforward
manner and it is also a good quick reference for more advanced students.
The updated edition covers the Year 2000 AS and A Level specifications.

This book is written
in Spanish only and that's the beauty of it! It is a text issued
by the most renown educational publisher of Spain. You can make
use of it if you are an advanced student or are at a good intermediate
level and feel confident of your grasp of the language. Because
this
is 'una gramática para extranjeros,' it was created to make
the subject easier for foreign students. The focus is on concise
and clear explanations accompanied by appropriate examples and
tables. To make understanding easier, sometimes wrong sentences
are given,
clearly marked to show the incorrect use of a specific rule.
This text refers more to Castilian Spanish than to Latin American Spanish,
but it is an in-depth tool to master the subtleties of the language.
You will find here those elusive points that other grammars do not
explain.
If you are familiar with common grammatical terms in Spanish, then
you will find this book invaluable to refine your knowledge.

As the name suggests,
this book covers the conjugation of 501 Spanish verbs. The conjugation
of all these verbs is complete and without abbreviations. This book
is more than just a good reference for the trickiest part of the
Spanish grammar, however. At the beginning, you will find short grammatical
notes relating to the verbs, e.g. the formation of verb tenses in
Spanish. At the end, beside the index of all the verbs featured and
other verbs that conjugate in the same way, there are several interesting
sections: idiomatic expressions that contain verbs; a guide to Spanish
pronunciation; lists of words and expressions that may come handy
when travelling to a Spanish-speaking country; exercises (with answers);
and brief explanations of common grammatical terms.
This is a good resource to look up verb conjugations and other verb-related
topics, like the use of verbs and prepositions.
